ATO on the warpath in 2018 financial year

The ATO has devoted substantial funds to extra audit activity in the 2018 financial year. Areas being targeted are

 

1. Removal of travel expenses for Rental properties
2. Higher than expected claims for your Industry
3. Internet and Phone Claims with no apportionment or diary
4. Laundry expenses for people with no proper uniform
5. Cents per KM MV claims must be justified
6. Valid Log Books need to be kept
7. Receipts or Credit Card evidence needs to be shown
8. Uber & Air B and B operators
9. Travel Claims
